Lack of space in the jaw: the teeth are too big for the space available – usually for genetic reasons.
Wisdom teeth pushing forward: they push the row of teeth together from behind.
Lifelong tooth movement: over the years teeth drift towards the centre – mild crowding slowly gets worse.

Can crowding be treated with invisible aligners?

Yes – crowding is one of the most treatable aligner cases. SayCheeese easy often corrects mild crowding in around 14 weeks, and SayCheeese sensitive corrects moderate crowding in up to 28 weeks.

How much does treatment for crowding cost?

From €1,580 for one jaw or from €32 per month (smallest package with a term of up to 60 months) – as a fixed price after your free consultation incl. 3D scan, X-ray and full orthodontic diagnostics.

What happens if crowding isn't treated?

Crowded teeth are harder to clean – the risk of tooth decay and gum inflammation rises. In addition, crowding usually gets worse over the years because teeth naturally drift.

Do teeth have to be filed down if I have crowding?

Not always. If there isn't enough space in the jaw for the correction, our dentists polish the spaces between the teeth where needed (stripping) to create more room so the teeth can straighten. Whether and where this is necessary for you is decided individually by your dentist when planning your treatment.

Can crowding come back after treatment?

Yes, without aftercare the teeth can shift again – especially as teeth move throughout your life. That's why we recommend a retainer after treatment to hold your teeth in their new position, and we discuss with you how long and how often you should wear it.
